“Which platform should you use to build your mobile business startup”. This has been a mind-bugging question for mobile developers to answer clearly. Even as the number of apps available on the Android and iOS platform keeps increasing, yet the contemplation doesn’t stop among developers. We have a team of mobile app development to help you get started with the process of getting an idea on android vs iOS, In this article, we’ll take a look at some of the factors you may want to consider when weighing your options.

‘Let’s get started 😉

Android App Vs. iPhone App – Mobile Phone Users graph

Number-of-Mobile-Phone-Users

Andriod Vs. iOS Mobile App Audience:

Even though 80% of the world’s mobile app market is managed by Android, some of the most expected income-generating nations like the USA or Australia becomes under iOS dominance. So if your viewers belong to the western countries take help from iPhone app developers but if the world is your audience, go with Android app developer.

Andriod Vs. iOS Mobile App Purchaser:

If your app’s business design has in-app marketing at the center, it would be excellent to go with App Store instead of the Android Play Store. While the ordinary per-user in-app purchase per app in case of Apple is $1.08, in case of the same number gets reduced to $0.43.

Android-vs-iOS-Mobile-App-Market-Share

Andriod Vs. iOS Mobile App Market Share:

The market share division factor when making a choice of iOS vs Android for the startup is calculated in terms of the total number of users on both the platforms. While the graph above shows the obvious – Android app development has a greater market share than iOS development, let us still throw some light on it. With the number of Android devices being 10X more than Apple flagship devices, the number of users is by default inclined towards Android as compared to iOS app development

Andriod Vs. iOS Mobile App Stores:

If you prefer to publish for an iOS device you will not only have to obtain the app to your own reward but to Apple’s as well. They will vet the app you offer and may discard it if they assume it does not meet their criteria. The submission method for an Android app is less powerful, and therefore your app is less possible to get declined. While this may make things easier it can also make it stronger for people to take developers of new apps sincerely. Without vetting, there is always the possibility that an app could have malicious code inside. So keep in memory you may have to work harder to get your users trust.

Single App Stores Vs. Multiple Options:

Apple manages quality power over all iOS apps because the Apple App Store is the only iOS marketplace. For Android devices, there are many various marketplaces, the main one being Google Play. The shorter stores, like Anzhi and App China, may have a shorter reach, but keep in the thought you don’t need to restrict your app to only one store. Just be conscious that there may be different vetting terms from store to store.

Android Vs. iOS Devices (Operating System Variety and Hardware):

Android devices have many several types, broadly called flavors, which have different features and disputes in code. These variations might present a difficulty, so if you decide to develop for Android, make sure you are conscious of these effects and test on multiple devices. You also need to be aware that the modifications in hardware from maker to maker can complicate the development process. You can assume that some basic features are part of every device, but accurate standards will vary. Coding for iOS devices is a little more straight forward since each device retains the same specifications and hardware.

Android vs iOS App Cost:

If you need to publish in the Apple App Store, you’ll require to pony up some cash for a developer’s license (about $99, currently) so if you’re on a tight budget, you may want to stick with Android as your platform of choice–they’re a bit more affordable, a mobile developer’s license only costs $25.

When it becomes to building apps for iOS and Android, both platforms have their pros and cons. It’s up to you to determine which best meets your needs as a developer.

Android Vs. iOS Mobile App Revenue & Downloads:

iOS makes higher Return than Google Playstore Despite the Greater number of downloads the latter has. The iOS App Store is making a whopping 60% earnings than Google’s Play market, despite the latter has a significantly greater number of downloads. A report by App Annie Intelligence, a research firm specializing in the app store marketplace, declared that the iOS App Store maintained its strong lead in the app marketplace revenue over the Google Play store.

For the third quarter, iOS App Store’s revenue was around 60% higher than Google Play’s, largely due to significant growth in Japan, iOS’ second-largest market behind the US. The UK remains fourth in the world in terms of revenue and downloads created from the iOS App Store, behind China. Australia is No 5 on the list. Google Play’s biggest revenue-generating businesses were Japan, the US, South Korea, Germany, and Taiwan in the third quarter.

The App Annie Macro Trends report also showed that Google Play downloads passed iOS App Store downloads by 60% in the third quarter, roughly the same as the last quarter. In the third quarter of 2013, Google Play downloads were only 25% higher than iOS App Store downloads.

Emerging markets such as Brazil and India have been key to Google Play download growth in the third quarter. Brazil’s market share of Google Play downloads notably increased more than any other countries, followed by India and Indonesia.
